Bien

Jan Bień is a Professor of Wroclaw University of Technology nominated in 2012 by the President of Republic of Poland, and the Head of the Department of Bridges and Railways. He hold a PhD degree from Wroclaw University of Technology ("Static Analysis of Bridge Superstructures Using the Finite Prism Element Method").

Prof. Jan Bień is a Professional Engineer in design and construction (since 1985), an expert of the Polish Association of Transportation Engineers (since 1998), and a state expert in bridge engineering (since 2002). He has published over 230 publications, including 7 books, as well as over 340 research and technical reports.

He is involved in international researches and technical cooperation, and has evaluated over 30 European projects. He is a member of scientific committees in international conferences as well as of professional associations. He participated in design and construction of about 20 bridge structures, and was involved in static and dynamic load tests of over 150 bridge structures.
