Chapeleau

Dr Xavier Chapeleau obtained a PhD degree at the University of Nantes in 2004. He studied the characterization (spectral and intrinsic features) of Fiber Bragg grating sensors by a Low Coherence Interference technique.

At the Université Gustave Eiffel (former Ifsttar and ex-LCPC), he works on the applications of fiber optic sensing techniques to monitor civil engineering structures. In Infrastar project, he was the supervisor of ESR2, Antoine Bassil, that worked on the measurement of crack width in concrete structures by a distributed fiber optics sensing technique.
